John Howells and Raymond Hood — the pair of architects responsible for the design of the Tribune Tower, in Chicago. This upscale bar & restaurant resides on the ground level of the building, and is appropriately themed with an homage to the city’s globally-famed skyscraper architecture. Howells & Hood are not names that are particularly well-known, even in Chicago, so the legibility of this logo was a major requirement. The solution was to create a mark that is a quick read, while reflecting the extremely intricate details of the gothic stonework which covers the building.
